Hi readers! If you’re anything like me, you’ve watched Stranger Things. If you’re even more like me, you binged the second season in a day, and are still reeling from it.
So you can probably figure out that I adore this show. I would give anything for more episodes, or at least, more than 17. . .
The point is I saw my fave Kat do this tag on her booktube channel here so I thought I’d give it a try! No one ever tags me anyway *cue hello darkness my old friend*
Since I only watched ST in 2017, I’m going to use only books I’ve read this year. Makes sense, yes?
Whatever, let’s get this over with. (That’s the spirit.)
A book that grabbed your attention on the first page
The Library of Fates had so many twists and turns in the beginning, and I was hooked! I couldn’t put it down for hours, until I finished it the next day.
Dungeons and Dragons
A fantasy world you’d like to experience yourself
I think the video game world of Warcross would be really interesting. (I’m really trying not to be basic and use Hogwarts, let me be!) Unless the whole game world turns into Sword Art Online, then I take it back.
Name your favorite bookish friends
The Dregs in Six of Crows (since I recently just finished Crooked Kingdom) are by far my favorite crew! They have the perfect combo of chemistry, sexual tension, and occasionally wanting to kill each other. What else could you want? :3
ABC’s and Christmas Lights
Your favorite mentally unhinged character
I’m not sure if the Darkling counts, but he had quite a dark character arc and he is still one of my faves and he’ll never not be.
Also Warner. Definitely some issues there.
Gotta love my anti-heroes/villains.
A book that was the opposite of what you expected
Royce Rolls by Margaret Stohl, it was a lot more unreliable narrator-y than I expected, and it made for an interesting ending twist than what the synopsis says.
Name the freakiest government you can think of.
I’ve read a lot of dystopia, and all of it is terrifying. But I think The Handmaid’s Tale (haven’t read it, but I really want to watch) is based only a few years from present day which makes it all the more creepier that our government could easily become that oppressive.
A scary book creature you would not want to go through your walls
Dementors, man. Or any demon from the Shadowhunter universe.
A book that left you wanting more
The Gentleman’s Guide of Vice and Virtue! I adored the witty sarcasm and queer rep of Monty and Percy, and I needed MORE! Especially their adventures in Paris 🙂 But we’re getting a sequel about Monty’s sister, Felicity, who is aromantic asexual (woo!) so it’s going to be a good time, and hopefully Monty and Percy make an appearance!
Okay that’s all I have, uh, I hope you enjoyed!
Thanks for reading! Have you watched Stranger Things? Tell me your thoughts!
